The Joint International Meeting UMI-DMV is held for the purpose of enhancing and encouraging the scientific collaboration between the German and Italian mathematical communities in all fields of Pure and Applied Mathematics. The Meeting will take place from June 18th through June 22nd, 2007, at the University of Perugia (Italy). The University of Perugia is among the oldest Italian Universities. It was officially established in 1308 by Pope Clemente V's bull. The relationships between Perugia and the German community are particularly strong thanks to its twinning with Potsdam and Tübingen that has been promoting over the last 25 years the cultural exchanges between Perugia and these two towns. The scientific program consists of ten Plenary Talks and sixteen Special Sessions: each Session shall be organized by members of the two Societies, who will invite speakers from both countries.
